Catching up on Features

Tera (creativityisMessy) has this talent for making cool manly treasuries that Etsy loves as well as more woman centered choices like this:

In all cases her treasuries have a confidence that is very attractive. As teammates, I can tell you we appreciate her tremendously.
Also, there is really no way to picture this here, but several of our teammates have shown up in the Etsy finds email lately, including OrangeThyme and LittleVintageCottage. Craftcult has a new feature whereby searching for features includes not just front pages and storque articles but the finds email as well. Here is the search that shows littlevintagecottage. Here is the one for Orangthyme.
Lisa, at ZiBagz is another curator who has the confident touch of a master with the treasuries. Here is Sagegold starring in a recent Etsy front page courtesy of ZiBagz.

Excellent items everyone and great work promoting one another.

Catching up on features

That lovely Parrot wings hair clip is from our friend Leanna. This morning, Creativityismessy is in the Etsy finds, which reminded me that StudioCherie was in the finds last week and SeamsVictorian was on the Front Page last week (as shown above) as well, so here we all are together. Congrats! Cherie's feature can be found in this Storque Article.

Front Page Features

I haven't done one of these posts in a while, but that doesn't mean we haven't been featured. Here is a quick catch up!

Team Meeting and Features of the Week

The shops represented above attended our monthly morning meeting in Etsy's chat rooms. We discussed the importance of shop profiles, and reviewed some tips for writing a good profile. We will be sharing our improvements with one another and asking for feedback on the Yahoo group. In this way, we can help one another with shop makeovers a small bit at a time.

Leanna was featured by the stately Estelle Barada who looks absolutley queenly in the skirt and bodice she bought from SeamsVictorian.

One of StudioCherie's customers printed her own time travel fabric to sew up a travel bag from Cherie's duffle pattern. I think her ingenuity deserves a blog link here.

Lastly, here is Cherie's houndstooth duffle on an Etsy homepage featured this week.

In the Gift Guides

This is something to celebrate, and something to aspire to. Suggestions for getting in the gift guides.
1. Photography! Maybe you are tired of hearing it, but photos are everything when you are selling online. Randi is going to run a workshop for us on this topic sometime soon.

2. Curate yourself. Read Am I Worthy and use the method in that blog post to put your items next to items that are currently in your target gift guide. See for yourself. Does your item look like it belongs? If not, go back to step one.

3. After you have done 1 and 2, you are ready to get noticed. A good place to do this is the Etsy Shop Makeovers Flickr Group. You can post before and after photos there. Etsy Admin looks in that pool for items to feature.

4. Keep doing what you do best, and fill your shop with the good stuff.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I typed this into my Etsy search, "easternwateam breast cancer" and discovered our team members who have posted and tagged their items that will benefit the Susan G. Komen Fund. If there are more of you - and I think there are, please tag at least one of your items with both the "easternwateam" tag and "breast cancer." That way, we can find you and give you recognition.

Sagegold Soaps is having a storewide benefit and donating a portion of all of her bar soap sales. You can find more details in her shop announcement.

Roseworks Jewelry also has a storewide benefit happening as announced on her landing page, and a lovely new pink banner too!

I know Ragnazidnar is busily adding items for both her vegetarian sale and for her Breast Cancer benefit. Here is one of her new pink line that will benefit the fund. Look at Randi's shop announcement and check out her special sections in her store.
(This looks like it might be found at the Runway Renegades Show too.)

Annie Kints also has a special section of pink items to benefit the fund. Here is one. She has a nice variety of items involved, so check out her shop announcement and special section for details.

Studio Cherie has pulled all of the pink items from every section of her shop, and made special pink items (like this bag) for her "Pink for October" section. Shop her special section to benefit the Susan G. Komen Fund.

We will do another search in a few days and add to the list of team members participating in this charity event.
